Hello AI Enthusiast,

This is a short version of a longer blog article. You can read the full post here.

How most of us use ChatGPT

You open ChatGPT, ask your question, get an answer, then copy it into the document, spreadsheet, or email you're actually working on. That's how most people have used it since day one. It works, and now there's a bigger shift happening.

What ChatGPT Work changes

With ChatGPT Work, its new agent mode, you hand over a whole task instead of a single question. It connects to your files and apps, plans the steps, and produces finished output: a report, a spreadsheet analysis, a slide deck, even a simple dashboard. You review and approve as it goes. It's OpenAI's answer to Anthropic's Claude Cowork.

Where it saves time

The real wins are the jobs you do again and again. A weekly report, a meeting follow-up, a first draft of a proposal. You can even set some of them to run on a schedule, like a Friday team update built from your notes and task list, with anything that needs a human check flagged at the end.

What's in the full post

We go through how Work mode is different from Chat mode, when to use each, and the features worth knowing for teams: Plan mode, scheduled tasks, Sites, and using it across desktop, browser, and mobile. We also cover what to watch out for and a small, low-risk task you can try this week.
