We've all had those meetings where someone drops a brilliant insight that just... disappears forever. We got tired of our best AI discussions never reaching anyone, so we built an automation that turns meeting transcriptions into social videos. No manual work, no stale news – just automatic content creation.

The Problem

Creating social videos from meetings is surprisingly complex. You get a great transcription, then face hours of extracting key points, writing scripts, crafting descriptions, and producing videos. By the time you finish, your "breaking news" is old news. Most meeting insights end up buried in Google Drive forever.

How We Do It: A Step-by-Step Guide

Let's walk through our Make automation that handles everything. It watches for new transcriptions, writes scripts, creates videos, and organizes the results.

Step 1: Monitor Meeting Transcriptions

We've got a Google Drive folder where meeting transcriptions land, and the automation watches for new files.

Set up:

  1. Configure Google Drive Watch in Make to monitor your folder

  2. Add a filter to only process meetings worth turning into videos

Pro tip: Name your meeting files consistently or your filters won't work properly.

Step 2: Extract Meeting Content

Once the automation spots a relevant transcription, it grabs the full text using the "Get Content of a Document" module. Connect this to your filtered documents so it only processes the right meetings.

Step 3: Generate Video Script with AI

Here's where it gets interesting. We feed the meeting transcription to ChatGPT and ask it to create a 60-second video script. The AI picks out the most engaging points and structures them into something that flows naturally when spoken.

Your task is to create a 60 second video script that:
- Opens with a compelling hook about the most interesting AI development discussed
- Presents 2-3 key insights or news items in a logical flow
- Uses conversational, accessible language (avoid technical jargon)
- Includes natural transitions between topics
- Ends with a call-to-action encouraging viewers to follow for more AI updates
- Fits comfortably within 60 seconds when spoken at normal pace

Format the script with clear speaker cues and include brief notes for emphasis or tone.

Step 4: Create Social Media Description

Videos need descriptions. We let AI handle this too, feeding it the script and asking for platform-ready text with hashtags and a call-to-action.

- Starts with an attention-grabbing first line that works across platforms
- Summarizes the key AI news/insights covered in the video

- Keeps the total length optimal for LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram

Step 5: Generate AI Avatar Video

Now for the actual video creation using HeyGen's AI avatars. This beats trying to coordinate filming schedules.

1 - Set up HeyGen module: Configure the "Create an Avatar Video" module with your HeyGen API credentials. Choose consistent branding elements (same avatar, voice, and style for brand recognition)

2 - Input the script: Feed the AI-generated script into the video creation module

Heads up: Make sure you have enough HeyGen credits, and test different avatars – some still look a bit uncanny valley.

Step 6: Retrieve and Store Video

Final step: retrieve your completed video and organize it. We use Notion to track all our content, but any system works.

2 - Store in Notion database: Add all components (video link, script, description, and metadata) to your content management system
