OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Atlas Browser

OpenAI has released ChatGPT Atlas, a new web browser with AI built into its core. The browser lets ChatGPT understand what you're viewing and help with tasks without leaving the page. It includes optional "browser memories" that remember context from your browsing, and an agent mode that can complete tasks like research or online shopping.

This is OpenAI's distribution play - they want to control how their billion users access ChatGPT instead of depending on Apple's App Store or Chrome. The agent mode should work better now since they control the full browsing data instead of just taking screenshots.

Building a browser makes sense when you're trying to become the default way people interact with the internet. It's about owning your distribution channel.

Microsoft Brings Voice and Vision to Windows 11

Microsoft has added voice activation to Windows 11's Copilot with "Hey Copilot" commands and expanded Copilot Vision to analyze on-screen content. The update includes integrations with services like OneDrive and Gmail, plus Copilot Actions for managing local files coming to Windows Insiders. Microsoft also introduced Gaming Copilot for ROG Xbox Ally devices and AI shortcuts in File Explorer.

Another distribution play - Microsoft is embedding Copilot everywhere in Windows as AI becomes central to computing. With Windows 10 support ending and hardware requirements pushing upgrades, they're moving users toward new AI-capable PCs.

The features mostly build on what Microsoft already had rather than introducing something new.

Anthropic Launches Skills for Claude

Anthropic introduced Skills, a feature that lets Claude access specialized instructions and resources when needed. Skills are folders containing guidelines, scripts, and files that Claude loads automatically for relevant tasks. Users can build custom skills through a "skill-creator" tool and use them across Claude apps, Claude Code, and the API. Anthropic provides pre-built skills for common tasks like document creation.

This solves a technical problem for developers, instead of clogging the context window with tool declarations, Skills store instructions in separate files that Claude loads only when needed. It's a smart optimization that could save money and improve performance.

Beyond coding, it might work like dynamic custom GPTs for repetitive tasks, automatically pulling the right instructions when needed.

Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4.5 AI model now offers improved performance and new tools to support the entire life sciences research process, from early discovery to commercialization.
Claude Code on the web lets users delegate coding tasks securely via a browser-based interface that runs isolated sessions on Anthropic's cloud infrastructure.
Adobe's AI Foundry lets businesses create custom generative AI models for on-brand content across multiple media formats, boosting creative control and efficiency.
