📚 Generate Website FAQs with AI

How we utilized ChatGPT to categorize questions

Reading Time: 5 minutes

Hello AI Enthusiast,

Today, we're sharing how we created the FAQ section for our Generative AI Project Bootcamp website. We'll show you how we leveraged ChatGPT to streamline this process and improve our communication with potential students.

The Problem

After launching our Generative AI Project Bootcamp, we received many questions from potential students across various channels; emails, social media, chat, and DMs. We needed to create a comprehensive FAQ section for our website, but faced the usual challenges when you have to do this kind of work:

  1. Organizing questions from multiple sources

  2. Identifying common themes

  3. Drafting clear, consistent answers

Manually sorting and answering each query is time-consuming and potentially inconsistent. We needed a more efficient solution.

How We Did It Using ChatGPT

To create our FAQ section efficiently, we leveraged ChatGPT. Here's our step-by-step process:

1) Question collection: We gathered all questions from various channels (email, social media, chat, DMs) into a single Google Doc.

2) Categorization with AI: We provided ChatGPT with the list of questions and asked it to categorize them. Here's the prompt we used:

You are an experienced content strategist organizing questions for an FAQ section of a [PRODUCT/SERVICE] website.

Categorize the following questions into logical groups based on their themes or topics. Provide a suitable category name for each group.

Aim for [X-Y] categories. Each question should be placed in only one category.

3) Answer drafting: For each category, we provided our own answers based on our course details and policies.

4) FAQ refinement: We then asked ChatGPT to rewrite these answers in a simple, understandable Q&A format. Here's the prompt we used:

You are a skilled technical writer creating a FAQ section for a [PRODUCT/SERVICE] website.

Rewrite the following answers into clear, concise questions and answers suitable for an FAQ page. Ensure the language is simple and easily understandable.

Keep the tone [DESIRED_TONE]. Each Q&A pair should be self-contained and not require additional context to understand.

5) Final review and implementation: We reviewed the AI-generated FAQs, made any necessary adjustments, and then implemented them on our website.

By using AI in this process, we were able to organize a large volume of questions efficiently and create clear, consistent FAQs that address our potential students' most common concerns.

Your Turn

Now that you've seen how we used ChatGPT to create our FAQ section, give it a try yourself. Here's a simple exercise to get you started:

  1. Collect 5-10 common questions about your product or service from various channels (email, social media, customer support).

  2. Use our prompts with ChatGPT, or another model, to categorize these questions and refine your answers.

  3. Review and adjust the output to ensure it accurately represents your offering.
