Integrating AI into products

Hey AI enthusiast,

In case you haven't heard, there's been a surge of companies integrating AI into their products in the past couple of weeks. Some examples include:

  • Slack's integrated ChatGPT, an AI-powered tool that aims to enhance communication and collaboration among users.

  • Hubspot released ChatSpot, an AI tool that generates content and automatically responds to clients' emails.

  • Spotify's AI DJ adds an extra layer of excitement to the already popular AI-powered “Discover Weekly” playlist.

  • Snapchat released its own version of ChatGPT called "My AI".

  • Notion's AI version is now available to the public after being in beta testing.

These developments are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the integration of AI into various products and services. As AI continues to evolve and become more prevalent in different industries, it's important to consider how it could potentially impact your career path.

Will AI be able to automate certain tasks in your job? Will it lead to the creation of new positions that require a different set of skills? These are all questions worth considering as we move towards a more AI-driven future.

We designed the AI Career Compass course to help you inspect the impact that AI is having on the job market and how your skillset can match an AI job profile.

In its Pro version, you'll have the chance to participate in two live workshops, where you'll have the exclusive opportunity to interact with AI experts and fellow students.

🧱 Foundational concepts

Let's chat about the Dartmouth Conference, a major event in the history of AI.

Back in the summer of 1956, a group of tech experts including John McCarthy, Marvin Minsky, Claude Shannon, and Nathaniel Rochester got together at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire to explore the idea of building machines that could learn and think like humans. They talked about all kinds of cool stuff, from language processing to problem-solving and perception.

It was at this conference that the term "artificial intelligence" was first used, and it basically kicked off AI as a field of study.

🗞️ AI news from the world

Romania's Prime Minister, Nicolae Ciuca, has unveiled the world's first AI-powered government adviser called Ion. What it does is, it reads what people are saying on social media and shares their worries and opinions with the government. The idea is that it will help the government make decisions faster, but some people are worried that it might pick only certain posts or have some biased decisions.

🔧 AI Tool

News can be summarized with TechCrunch Summary! This project uses the OpenAI GPT-3 API and Vercel Edge functions with streaming to quickly and accurately summarize TechCrunch articles. The process is simple and fast: the application fetches the content of a TechCrunch article, sends it to the GPT-3 API in a prompt, and then receives and streams the summarized response back to the application.
