During the last few days OpenAI's been busy with the release of Canvas, a collaborative interface for ChatGPT, and a massive $6.6 billion funding round. OpenAI Launches Canvas for Writing and Coding Collaboratively with ChatGPT

OpenAI introduces Canvas, a new interface for ChatGPT that allows collaborative writing and coding beyond chat interactions. Currently in beta and available to Plus and Team users, Canvas allows users to edit directly, receive contextual feedback, and track changes in a sidebar next to the chat.

This update is more about UX than tech. With AI models becoming increasingly similar, OpenAI is trying to improve ChatGPT's usability.

While it might resemble Claude's Artifacts, it's likely these companies are independently working on similar features rather than copying each other. "The devil is in the interface."

OpenAI Raises Record $6.6B in Largest VC Round

OpenAI closed the largest VC round of all time, raising $6.6 billion and reaching a valuation of $157 billion, with backing from Thrive Capital, Microsoft, and Nvidia. Notably, OpenAI asked investors to avoid supporting rival AI startups like Anthropic and xAI.

Meta Debuts Movie Gen for Video with Sound

Metaā€™s new Movie Gen model generates realistic video with sound based on text prompts, though it is not publicly available. The model includes features like text-based editing and generates up to 16 seconds of video.
