Anthropic has launched Claude 3.5 Sonnet, which outperforms previous models in intelligence, speed, and cost, and is available on multiple platforms including Anthropic API. Claude 3.5 Sonnet excels in complex tasks, improves visual reasoning, and introduces "Artifacts" for real-time interaction with and editing AI-generated content. Further models in the Claude 3.5 family are expected later this year.

Ilya Sutskever, a co-founder of OpenAI, has launched Safe Superintelligence (SSI) with the goal of developing safe superintelligent AI systems. SSI, a for-profit enterprise, focuses exclusively on AI safety and capabilities. In the meantime, OpenAI acquired database tech firm Rockset, and Multi, a startup developing a video-first collaboration platform.

Apple announced it would delay the release of certain features in Europe, including the recently announced Apple Intelligence, due to concerns that the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA) might compromise user privacy and data security. The company has previously cited regulatory challenges as reasons for limiting features in the EU.
