Hello AI Enthusiast,

This week, OpenAI and Anthropic are dominating the headlines, and not just with new models. They are moving into consulting territory, bringing Codex to the browser, and giving developers a way to manage multiple AI agents at once. A lot happening from just two companies. Let's get into it.

The Big Picture 🔊

OpenAI and Anthropic launch AI deployment companies

Both OpenAI and Anthropic are launching dedicated deployment companies, backed by major investors, to help organizations move beyond experimenting with AI and actually integrate it into core operations. OpenAI acquired consulting firm Tomoro and raised $4B; Anthropic partnered with Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, and others. Both models embed engineers directly into client teams.

Both companies announced this within days of each other. The race has shifted from model quality to who controls implementation. Once engineers are embedded and systems are built around your workflows, switching becomes very expensive.

It's a lock-in play, and it puts OpenAI and Anthropic in direct competition with consulting firms like Accenture and McKinsey.

OpenAI and Anthropic are now sending engineers into companies to find AI use cases. Most teams, though, are still figuring out the basics. Our Corporate AI Training helps you get there without the enterprise price tag.

OpenAI's Codex gets a Chrome extension

OpenAI has added a Chrome extension to Codex, its AI coding agent. It can now run browser tasks in the background across multiple tabs without interrupting your work. It handles repetitive browser work like data entry, dashboard checks, CRM updates, and research, choosing between plugins and direct browser control depending on the task. Available now, except in the EU and UK.

The browser extension lowers the barrier significantly. Non-technical users who would never install a desktop app will try something in the browser.

The name "Codex" still sounds like a developer tool, but the actual use cases, filling forms, checking dashboards, doing research, are for everyone.

Claude Code adds a dashboard to manage parallel agents

Anthropic has added "agent view" to Claude Code, a dashboard that lets developers run and monitor multiple AI coding sessions at once. You can launch new agents, send them to the background, and check in only when needed. A simple interface shows which sessions are waiting, running, or done. Available now as a research preview on paid plans.

This is squarely for developers, but the direction is clear. You stop being someone who writes code and start being someone who manages agents.

Worth noting though: running agents in parallel burns through your quota fast, so Anthropic benefits too. More agents running means more credits consumed.

Bits and Bobs 🗞️

  • OpenAI's new realtime voice models, including GPT-Realtime-2, GPT-Realtime-Translate, and GPT-Realtime-Whisper, enable developers to build natural, intelligent, multilingual voice apps that can reason, translate, transcribe, and act instantly during conversations.

  • Claude AI now integrates 20+ connectors and 12 legal-specific plugins, enabling seamless work across Microsoft apps and key legal systems to support diverse legal tasks and improve access to legal aid.

  • OpenAI's Daybreak uses AI models like Codex to help detect, prioritize, and fix software vulnerabilities faster, making cyber defense more built-in and resilient by design.

  • The Trump administration is reconsidering its hands-off stance to propose government oversight and a review process for new AI models following Anthropic's release of the powerful Mythos AI.
